Downtown Attracts Expansion Office Of Respected RI Energy Service Company

RISE Engineering, a division of Thielsch Engineering, Inc., headquartered in Cranston, RI, recently opened an office in Downtown Norwich at 101 Water Street. RISE, one of the county's longest operating energy efficiency organizations, has provided services to over 210,000 commercial, industrial, multifamily, institutional and residential buildings in New England. Their mission is to deliver "one-stop" services to help end users make their building environments more efficient, durable, healthful, and affordable.

On Thursday, 9 August 2007, Mayor Ben Lathrop and representatives of Rose City Renaissance - The Norwich Main Street Program and the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed RISE to Downtown Norwich with a ribbon cutting at their offices.

Nationally recognized for their innovative delivery of conservation services over the past thirty (30) years, the RISE staff works with energy users in the commercial, industrial and institutional sectors, directly and on behalf of electric, gas, and water utilities, government agencies, and other program sponsors to deliver efficiency and demand side management services to customers in a professional, responsive, and cost-effective manner.

According to Rick Galipeau, Director of Business Development, "our mission is to deliver 'one-stop services' to help end users make their building environments more efficient, durable, healthful, and affordable.

RISE Engineering will work with commercial, industrial and institutional customers to identify energy saving opportunities for measures that include but are not limited to Interior and Exterior Lighting; Occupancy controls and sensors; Setback and communicating thermostats; HVAC controls and systems; Vending machine controls; Premium efficiency motors; Variable frequency drives; Compressed air systems; Hotel room occupancy sensors and controls; Water heating controls and systems; Building recommissioning; Refrigeration controls, Refrigeration door heaters and Process equipment

As a turnkey energy services firm, the engineering and field staff of RISE Engineering are acutely aware of the practical considerations involved with arranging energy efficiency improvement projects. With the experience of over $250 million in projects directly arranged by RISE, the team knows what it takes and how much it costs to complete efficiency upgrades.

"We are very pleased to be able to locate in Norwich and be a part of the downtown renaissance," continued Galipeau. "With the amount of new construction, renovations and remodeling going on in the region, we could not have picked a better place to grow!"
